It has absorbent pads inside the diaper which are cleanable and can be purchased separate if yours becomes oil soaked on a regular basis and you would like to have spares. From the bottom of the diaper it comes up on the sides of the engine block to cover where the rods are coming out catching the hot oil and holding in the diaper.
